OUR HISTORY

ELECT Bridge Training Ministry’s Mission

Rev. Dr. Patricia Roberson-Fickling, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, has always been deeply involved in community service and leadership. She graduated from J.C. Murphy High School in 1976, where she was highly active in various school activities, including serving as president of her senior class and being a member of the AZUWUR yearbook staff. Her dedication to community work extended beyond school, as she participated in the Kirkwood Players, an initiative that performed skits and songs to raise awareness about drug use. She also contributed to the Dekalb-Atlanta Voters Council, promoting community education and awareness through prayer breakfasts with local politicians and clergy. Dr. Fickling graduated from Berry College and furthered her education with multiple master’s degrees, including in Business and Public Administration. She earned her Doctor of Ministry from Jacksonville Theological Seminary, where she also serves as a facilitator.

In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Fickling has received numerous awards for her community contributions, including the C.A.R.E. Award from the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta and a nomination for the Presidential Award for Community Service. She has been a keynote speaker at the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration and served on various local, regional, and national committees. Dr. Fickling currently serves as the Director of Children’s Church at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia, and holds several leadership roles, including President of the Glenda J. Black Minister Spouses and Widows Guild and Chaplain for the Women’s Ministry. She is married to Rev. Leo Fickling, Jr., a decorated Vietnam Marine Veteran, and together they have a blended family of three adult children, three granddaughters, and one grandson.
